Kitchen FAQs – Re-facing solution

What is re-facing?

Re-facing is a process where the cabinet drawers and door get replaced and the cabinet frames have a matching laminate installed. However, one issue that occurs is that the laminate can shift on the cabinet frame causing and unsightly seam. Accordingly, this process is less expensive than replacing the cabinets outright, and is a viable choice for a restrictive budget. The drawback is the balance of the cost. Comparatively speaking the cabinet doors run about 70% of the total cost for a set of new cabinets. This makes re-facing, from a financial standpoint, an investment with a high risk against satisfaction and quality. Which means investing in a full set of cabinets the sound choice financially speaking.
